Representative Brian White represents South Carolina House District Six which is comprised of a portion of Anderson County, SC. Located along Interstate 85, midway between Charlotte, N.C. and Atlanta, GA, District Six is a great place to live, work, and play. The District includes the City of Anderson, the Town of Pendleton and surrounding areas. Its communities have a small-town feel, but with one of the lowest costs of living in the United States, the area is also a thriving industrial, commercial and tourism center.

Anderson
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the northwestern corner of South Carolina, Anderson County has a mild climate with four distinct seasons, a vast lake, and a thriving economic and cultural community. Named for Revolutionary War leader Robert Anderson in the mid-1700’s, Anderson was the first city in the South to have an unlimited supply of electrical power. In fact, the first cotton gin in the world to be operated by electricity was in Anderson County in 1897.

Anderson is home to 55,950-acre Lake Hartwell, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake with nearly 1,000 miles of shoreline for residential and recreational use.

In June 2000, Anderson County was one of only ten communities nationwide to be designated an All-America City by the National Civic League.

Town of Pendleton
Listed on the National Register of Historic places, Pendleton is one of the largest historic districts in the United States. In 1790, the Town of Pendleton was founded on land that just a few years earlier had been a part of the Cherokee Indian nation. Pendleton was named for Judge Henry Pendleton, a jurist, legislator and soldier from Virginia. Pendleton was home to the original courthouse for the Pendleton District, which served the areas that are now Anderson and Pickens Counties.
